The SCCH Fitness Center promotes a healthy lifestyle to children in the community by offering a Fit Kids program. Childhood obesity rates are climbing and this puts children at risk for health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, and musculoskeletal problems. Children should aim to get 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity a day. Staying fit can also boost self-esteem.
The most important thing you can do for your children is to teach them to value their health. Being healthy and fit will not only put them in touch with their bodies, but also will increase their personal image and help them establish a desire to set personal goals.
Our Fit Kids program offers special classes throughout the year for children that are educational and fun, such as day camps, water activities, hiking, Olympic training, and obstacle courses.
